Faith, hope and love remain forever these three; and the greatest of these is love.

KIMBERLY ERRINGTON & DON BAHAM November 8, 2003

"To Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine...to Him be the glory for ever and ever!" Eph. 3:20

We met at church over 13 years ago, he was in Junior High and I was in
High School...we both liked each other even way back then, but the
timing was all wrong!!! I was friends with his sister and our
friendship continued to grow throughout the years. In February of 2002,
while Don was visiting his family, I called his sister to go for coffee
and she said she would if her brother could tag along...we went out for
coffee and dessert at Le Bateau Ivre in Berkeley, Ca and that was the
end of that until I received a random email from him in May! He was a
smart boy and played it cool, just wanting to be friends. He started
asking me if I was seeing anyone and wanted me to go skydiving with him
and his sister in September for his birthday...finances kept me from
taking the big plunge, but he asked if he could just take me out for a
night on the town instead. I accepted and we went to San Francisco on
September 8th, 2002. We had a great evening and closed down The Steps
of Rome (a great little cafe in North Beach) at 2am!!! When he dropped
me off that night he gave me a hug and said, 'Keep in touch!' I was sad
and thought things weren't going to go anywhere. I got an email from
him the following day that expressed his desire to go out again. He
said he'd had a great night and was interested in pursuing a long
distance relationship...is there any other kind??? And the rest is
history!!!

Don came to California for the weekend with big plans for us on Friday
night, Valentine's Day...when he came to pick me up he had a beautiful
bouquet of red tulips and attached to the front of them was a little
red velvet drawstring pouch. We were in a bit of a hurry as we had
dinner reservations at 8pm, so he told me I could open the little red
pouch on the way. In it was my very first pair of diamond earrings!!!
They were so beautiful...and they still are! As we were driving he told
me we were going to Santa Cruz for dinner and when we arrived our
reservation was at a romantic little cafe/bistro in downtown's Pearl
Alley. We had a lovely four~course french meal and by the time the main
course was served we were so full~The food was fabulous, but VERY
rich!!! After dinner he drove me up past the lighthouse and asked me if
I wanted to take a walk. We stood on a point that overlooked the ocean
and just listened to the waves, we continued walking until we came to
the lighthouse where I presented him with his Valentine's Day gift
basket...after he opened it, he thanked me again and again and told me
how much he loved everything. I then said to him, 'well, it's hard to
top diamond earrings!' and he said, 'well, I'm going to try!'...he
turned and got down on one knee and pulled a beautiful sparkling box
out of his pocket. He told me he loved me, he wanted to spend the rest
of his life with me and asked me to marry him!!! I, of course, said yes
and we hugged. We had a little trouble getting the beautiful princess
cut solitare off of the velvet pillow it was tied to but it quickly
made its way onto my ring finger. Before heading home we stopped at
some stairs that led down to the water. We sat down, looked out across
the ocean and listened to the waves. We said a little prayer thanking
God for our relationship and the many blessings He has given us, then
we headed home! It was a fabulous night and a wonderful beginning to
the journey that awaits us...

A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM THE COUPLE: To our
family and friends...first off to our families let me say how VERY
grateful we are for the love and support you have given us this past
year as our relationship has grown from friendship to where we are
today...9 weeks away from becoming man and wife! WOW can you believe
it's almost here? To Donalds parents...I want to thank you for
accepting me into your family, I know it is an adjustment, as it would
be for any family, to open your arms and hearts to a new addition...I
want you to know I am SO grateful for the gift God has given me in
Donald and in turn the gift He has given me in you! Donald is, in large
part, who he is today because of you and the godly influence you have
had on his life~for that I am forever grateful! I promise to love and
cherish him ALL the days of my life...Thank you for who you are and for
all you do for both of us! To my mom...where do I begin? I am grateful
to God for watching over you these past few months and so very grateful
to you for the help you have offered to me through the whole planning
process. I want you to know I love you, not for what you do or how much
you contribute, but for who you are. I have learned so much from
you~You are a woman of great inner strength and beauty. You have
weathered many storms and refused to give up...thank you for teaching
me perseverence! I am, in large part, who I am today because of you and
your prayers. To my dad...I am grateful for the relationship we have.
You have been so honest with me, speaking objectively (even if it means
telling me I am wrong) and sharing with me the wisdom you have learned
from your own experiences (good and bad)...I will never be able to
express my appreciation for all you have done and all you are doing to
make this day I have dreamed of since I was a little girl, a reality!
It means more than you know! To my grandparents...I am grateful to you
for the godly example you have set. I have learned so much from you and
I thank you for your faithful prayers. Even though we are far apart you
are never far from my thoughts. I am so glad you will be there for my
wedding day. I love you both! To Chuck and Deb...thank you for opening
your home and your heart to me. You have left your fingerprints all
over my life and I am forever grateful...you have taught me life
lessons about God, prayer, and relationships. Thank you for all you do
and for who you are! And to our friends...we are also grateful to all
of you for your love and support, especially this past year. We want
you to know how much we love and appreciate each and every one of you.
We pray God will richly bless you for the blessing you have been to us
throughout the years
